‘ALL 399 VILLAGES IN DHARWAD DISTRICT TO GET MALAPRABHA WATER’

HUBBALLI: All the 399 villages in the district will get Malaprabha water. A comprehensive project about this has been prepared, and the proposal will be placed for the approval of the Cabinet in its next meeting, said Large & Medium Industries and District In-charge Minister Jagadish Shettar.

He was speaking after dedicating a new water treatment plant with a capacity of 40 MLD at Amminabhavi in the taluk on Saturday.

The minister said, the drinking water supply position in the twin cities will improve considerably with the installation of the 1,944 HP deep-well turbine at Savadatti’s main plant, and three 850 HP centrifugal pump sets at Amminabhavi water treatment plant.

As of now, Hubballi is getting 80 MLD water from Malaprabha, and with the launching of the new project on Saturday, it will get 120 mld of water.

Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, MLAs Amrut Desai and Arvind Bellad, Deputy Commissioner Deepa Cholan, and others were present.
