HUBBALLI: The Vidyanagar police Tuesday registered a suo motu case against members of pro-Hindu organisations for allegedly assaulting the Kashmiri students in the Hubballi court premises.
Alleged members of pro-Hind organisations had tried to attack the Kashmiri students Talib Majeed, Basit Asif Sofi and Amir Mohiuddin Wahi. They were also reportedly hit with slippers while being produced in court over sedition charges.
The Vidyanagar police have registered suo moto case under IPC Section 323 against 10-15 unidentified people and launched the investigation.
The trio, students of KLE Institute of Technology, were arrested on Saturday for allegedly raising pro-Pakistan slogans and posting it on social media on the first anniversary of the Pulwama terrorist attack that killed 40 CRPF soldiers.
