AUTOMATED GATES TO REPLACE MANUAL BARRICADES AT BRTS CORRIDORS

HUBBALLI: In a bid to stop private vehicles from entering into the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) corridor, ‘boom barriers’ have been installed at Hosur Bus Stop as trial run.

The automated gates started their trial run at the MVP bus station at Hosur in the City, opening the BRTS lane only for the movement of ‘Chigari’ buses there.

So far, barricades were moved manually during the entry and exit of BRTS buses near the bus stations.

Three and six metre long barriers would be installed at entry points of 23 major junctions.
