Bus services resume in Hubballi


Hubballi, May 19: The state government has permitted a restart of bus service as instructed by the Central government, as the COVID lockdown has been relaxed in the state.

The services are being provided as per the requirements of the residents of Hubballi rural and urban and the Hubballi suburb.

The NWKRTC Hubballi Division has about 462 buses, of which 419 have been readied for the service. The city bus transport system has restarted from the CBT, old bus stand and the new bus stand.

Of the rural transport system, the buses are starting from the old bus stand, while the long distance buses – including to Bengaluru, Belagavi and other districts – are in the new bus stand.

As the bus transport system is restarting after a gap of two months, the people are showing eagerness to move home. They are taking care to wear masks, carry sanitiser and maintain social distance while traveling. The passengers are also being screened before they travel.

The BRTS buses between the twin cities, however, yet to be started .
