CITIZENS COMPLAIN ABOUT AUTO DRIVERS’ RASH DRIVING IN CITY

HUBBALLI: After a cruel incident, in which an auto rickshaw mercilessly ran over a BRTS security guard, citizens have started complaining about the rash driving by autorickshaw drivers in the twin cities.

A netizen, Rakesh Menasinkai commented on the Facebook page of Hubballi Times: “Dear Police Commissioner….you need to take swift action against the auto drivers who drive mercilessly before they turn Hubbali to another Bengaluru…”
One Vikram Jain wrote: They (auto drivers) don’t drive on the left of the road, but drive on what is left on the road.” Similarly, Afroz Sultana said, “These Auto Drivers are really horrible they neither care for their lives nor of others. Auto toh aese chalate hai jese baap ka rasta ho.”

Sachin Bandi asks: Why the traffic department always shows a soft corner on Auto drivers? While Pramodha Jadhav and Sheetal Jadhav and Tanveer Kazi sought strict action against the rash auto drivers, Prashanth TK wrote: Autodavara goonda giri jasti agide …. hubballi dwd nalli autos bandh madi ola jasti agbekagide.

Amit Habeeb comments, “Auto driver are like they are king of roads stop whenever & wherever..”, and Chetan Joshi said, “Whoever do such things should be punished severely and fine (must be put on) them.”

However, one Ryan Khan did not hesitate to ask why the car was allowed on the BRTS corridor. He wrote: Shameful act! But why did the guard allow the car to pass and stopped the auto?

Overall, The Hubballi-Dharwad police commissionerate must initiate stringent action against the culprits and make sure that such incidents should not recur.
