HUBBALLI: Students must develop reading habit as it is an easy way to attain success in life, said Prof. Abdul Kareem, former principal of Nehru College (Hubli) and former Member of the Syndicate Committee Karnataka University Dharwad, here on Tuesday.
He was addressing B.Ed students at the Annual Function of Sana College of Education held at the college premises in Shantiniketan here.
The much needed soft skills and social skills can be developed only if one keeps himself updated by reading. In addition to teaching and guiding the students, teachers should play a pivotal role in inculcating the habit of reading among student community.
Participating as the chief guest, Dr. NM Sali, Registrar (Evaluation), Karnatak University Dharwad, advised students, “student life is not a golden life but a difficult life. Those who work hard at this level, can make their remaining life golden.”
He too emphasised on the importance of reading and said, “In this age of information overload the students cannot tell names of at least five good books.”
Sana Educational Charitable Trust’s Chairman MM Malagi delivered presidential speech. Trustees Ayub Khan Savnur, Tariq Mujahid, B.Ed Principal Dr. RS Patage, Councillor Salma Kadapa, Ahmed Bijapur, students, teaching and non-teaching staff were present.
