DHARWAD: Death toll in the building collapse incident at Dharwad went up to 4 on Wednesday as 73 more NDRF personnel from have joined the rescue operation on the site.
Addressing reporters, District Collector Deepa Cholan said, “As many as 53 persons were rescued till Wednesday morning. A NDRF team from Bengaluru is engaged in the relief work. The NDRF personnel are in contact with four persons who are trapped under the debris. Efforts are on to rescue the trapped people.”
“A team of 35 NDRF personnel had reached from Bengaluru on Tuesday night, while 73 more personnel from Ghaziabad have joined the rescue operation on Wednesday morning,” she added.
Meanwhile, Three tunnels have been dug up to bring out the trapped persons.
District in-charge Minister RV Deshpande, Minister CS Shivalli, and other leaders have visited the site.
