DHARWAD: The 64th national kabaddi tournament for U-14 girls will be held at the Police Headquarters Stadium from January 23 to 27.
“The district received a rare opportunity to host the U-14 Girls’ Kabaddi tournament for 2018-19,” said Deputy Commissioner M. Deepa.
Informing this to press-persons here, the DC said participants from 29 States and seven Union Territories will be taking part. Each team will have 12 participants, and sports officials from across the country will take part too.
Minister in-charge of the district R.V. Deshpande will inaugurate the event on January 23. Mr. Deshpande will hoist the sports flag and Minister for Municipal Administration C.S. Shivalli will light the sports torch. MLAs Jagadish Shettar, Abbayya Prasad, ZP president Chaitra Shirur, MP Pralhad Joshi, and other elected representatives will be taking part.
