DHARWAD: Several youths in Dharwad, who have completed PUC and degree courses, have received job appointment letters though they had not applied for any job.
The letters state that they have been sent by the Central Government’s ministry of information and technology under the Digital India programme.
“You have been selected for jobs under direct recruitment and will be getting a salary of Rs. 32,000 per month,” the letters, which are entirely in Hindi, read.
They have further asked the candidates to pay Rs. 12000 as security to get their appointment confirmed. A mobile number – 09643782461- is mentioned and the candidates have been asked to call the number to know the bank account.
However, a Times of India report has quoted one such candidate Fakir Sab Nadaf’s statement. Nadaf said he tried to check from various ministries about the jobs offered under Digital India programme. But, it has come to light that several candidates from other parts of the country too have received such letters. Nadaf said if this is a fake letter, an investigation should be ordered.
