HUBBALLI: Shrimati C. Das, an academician, a polyglot and a translator from Hubballi, has been appointed director of Gurudev Tagore Indian Cultural Centre (GTICC) in Mexico.
According to a communication from the Ministry of External Affairs, the appointment of Ms. Das is for three years with the diplomatic rank of First Secretary, reports The Hindu.
Ms. Das was earlier part of the Group Study Cultural Exchange Team to Ecuador, South America. She was also a post doctoral research fellow at Northern Kentucky University, the U.S., and a senior research fellow under Ministry of Culture.
Ms. Das served as the head of the department of English in Anjuman e Islam’s Nehru College in Hubballi.
