HUBBALLI: The Karantaka Bandh called by Karnataka Sanghatanegala Okkooota – pro-Kannada organizations on Thursday is unlikely to have an impact on normal life in the City.
Dharwad Deputy Commissioner Deepa Cholan has clarified that the district will not observe the bandh. Government offices, schools, and colleges will remain opened as usual.
A few organizations of Karnataka want public and private companies to reserve jobs for local. The organizations want the government to implement the Sarojini Mahishi report which submitted 35 years ago. As per the report, Kannadigas should hold a certain percentage of jobs across PSUs and multinationals.
State organizations like the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), and Lorry Owners Association are also backing the strike.
