NEW RULE FOR INDIANS FLYING ABROAD FOR JOBS

Dubai: In a bid to provide protection and welfare to the Indian emigrants abroad, the Indian government has made online registration compulsory for all Indians travelling to work in 18 countries, including the UAE.

According to an advisory issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Indians not requiring emigration checks flying for overseas jobs to 18 countries including the UAE must register online at website www.emigrate.gov.in at least 24 hours before boarding their flight.

The mandatory registration is applicable to Indians holding Non-Emigration Check Required (Non-ECR or ECNR) passport.

The 18 countries are: UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Yemen, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Thailand, Afghanistan, and Indonesia.
