NO MORE UNIFORM FOR PU STUDENTS

Bengaluru: Students of pre-university colleges can rejoice as the Department of Pre-University Education has issued a direction to all colleges that students cannot be asked to wear uniforms. This applies to government, aided and private colleges, informed PU Board Director C Shikha.

Action would be initiated if the colleges insisted on students wearing uniforms. While government and aided college students did not have uniform, some private colleges had insisted on it, the department warned.

A circular was issued in 2018-19 that students should not be compelled to wear uniform in PU colleges. That circular must be followed this year as well, PU Board Director C Shikha said.
