OLA DRIVERS ALLEGE THREATS FROM AUTO DRIVERS; STAGED PROTEST

HUBBALLI: The drivers of Ola Cabs today staged a protest at Ola Cab office in Deshpande Nagar seeking the permission from the deputy commissioner to run the Cabs in the twin cities of Hubballi Dharwad.

The protesters said that the cab service was operational for the past four years in the city. Until June last year, no problem was there. But now the Ola cabs have been denied permission in the city. The city’s auto drivers are harassing by asking our permission.

“There are about 259 OLA car drivers in the city. Many of them have bought cars by borrowing interest based loans from banks. Now their lives have become hell,” protesters added.

Hundreds of cab drivers picketed the Ola Cab office located at Deshpande Nagar in the city and demanded to get the permission from the DC to run the cabs in the twin cities.
