POLICE GO TOUGH AGAINST TRAFFIC VIOLATORS

HUBBALLI: The city police have given a shock to footboard travelers and those who occupy the seats reserved for women and senior citizens in city buses.

As many as six teams headed by DCP Nemagowda carried out the operation at various places including at Channamma Circle, Lamington Road, and Hosur.

According to DCP Nemagowda, the drive has been launched to create awareness among those who occupy reserved seats.

The police personnel inspected around 250-300 buses for footboard travelers and passengers who occupy reserved seats and collected Rs 14,000 fine.
