HUBBALLI: Indian cricket men’s team vice-captain (ODI) Rohit Sharma will visit Hubballi on October 25 to inaugurate Shri Durga Sports Academy, a new sports academy started in the city by sports lovers.
Informing this to the media persons here recently, Academy Proprietor Veeresh Undi said, the academy is part of the Crickingdom, which is run by Rohit himself. Rohit is expected to interact with a selected players of the academy after the inauguration ceremony.
Undi said, at present the Crickingdom has five units: Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Vellur and Hubballi. “Hubballi’s unit will be first academy which will be inaugurated by Rohit himself,” he said.
The academy will conduct cricket practice round-the-year as it has four indoor pitches. More than 80-90 players can be trained at the academy per session. The academy has five turf wickets, certified coaches. The entire academy has been spread over 25,000 sq ft area.
