Travel history of new Covid infected persons released

Dharwad, May 22: Two people who returned to the district from New Delhi have been declared Corona-infected. The patients have been identified as P-1609 and P-1610.

The deputy commissioner has given the travel details of the two patients for the reference of the public. P-1609 (Male, 22 years) is a native of Guruvinahalli in Kundagol taluk. P-1610 (Male, 23 years) is from Umachagi, in Hubballi taluk.

Seven people from Karnataka had been working in a BPO in New Delhi for the last five to six months. Six of them left from Indrapur in Central Delhi by a private taxi at 10 am on May 14. They reached the Firozshah Kotla Ambedkar Stadium at 12.30 pm and underwent a Covid-19 test at 6.30 pm.

At 7.30 pm, they reached the Old Delhi railway station in a vehicle provided by the local administration. The seventh person joined them at the railway station, where they together boarded the Shramik train for Hubballi at 10 pm and reached Hubballi railway station at 11.30 pm on May 17.

Of the seven people, three went to Dharwad, two to Haveri district and two to Ballari district in the bus provided by the district administration. The throat swabs of the three people in Dharwad were taken for test and the people were kept under quarantine.

As per the results released on May 22, P-1609 and P-1610 tested positive for COVID-19 and admitted to Kims Hospital.
In the backdrop of this development, all citizens who had been in contact with the infected people are instructed to immediately contact on Corona helpline 1077 and provide their details to the officials. The people are also told to undergo test for Corona at the nearest government hospital, said the release.
