HUBBALLI: In a bid to celebrate Eid Milad in a meaningful way, Jamat-E-Ehle Sunnat Hubli-Dharwad and Dr. Bijapur jointly organized a “Blood Donation Camp” at Bijapur Hospital located on Karwar Road in the city today.
According to a release, around 100 people from various communities participated in the event and donated their blood.

Later in the day, Muslim religious leader Sayed Tajuddin Qadri addressed a gathering and motivated the Muslim religious leaders to donate blood. He said that the common people get motivated when leaders come forward to donate blood and help the needy.

Dr. Kranti Kiran spoke about the requirement of blood in India. He also spoke on the benefits of donating blood. Dr. Netali expressed his views on Social welfare through blood donation.

Dr. Abdul Karim spoke about the misconceptions among the general people regarding blood donation. Dr. KI Bijapur spoke about the situations of common people when blood is urgently required and the consequences if the requirements are not fulfilled.

Moulana Abdul Hakim Azhari presided over the function, while social worker Mujeebullah Makandar presented the vote of thanks.

Dr. Umesh Hallikeri, Dr. Mamta Halageri, Dr. Manjunath Nekar were also present on the dais.
Dr. Umesh Hallikeri and a team of Cancer Hospital Blood bank managed the blood donation drive. Moulana Sahabjan, Mr. Siraj, Zakariya Maddin, Mr. Noor Ahmed Maniyar, Md. Yusuf Sundke, Abbdussalam, Dr. Suhail Ambi, Dr. Azad, Dr. Sachin Hoskatti, Kaleel and Arif were also present on the occasion.
